…a couple of pictures from our May 18th surf fishing trip.

Paul and I caught 12 fish at Ormond Beach - 7 whiting and 5 pompano.

We kept 10, releasing two undersized pompano.

Three of the whiting were good sized, probably in the 1 1/2 lb class.

The pompano were delicious.

The day was beautiful - we had the beach to ourselves until almost 11:00 AM.

High tide was about noon. We fished until 2:00 PM.

The best fishing was between 11:00 AM and when we left.

Our #2 circle hooks worked very well, but we still missed more fish than we caught.

We used shrimp as bait.
